Nick Knowles

Nick Knowles built his television career from the ground up, starting as a runner on set. His charisma and effortless ability to connect with audiences make him a captivating presence, whether on screen or at live events. Known for his hilarious anecdotes and genuine warmth, Nick has decades of behind-the-scenes stories to share—from his early struggles to his rise as a household name.

Leaving school at 16, Nick worked as a labourer before trying his hand at selling carpets and shoes. While these jobs helped shape his down-to-earth nature, he always knew his future lay in entertainment. A natural storyteller, he spent his youth crafting poems and comedy scripts, even submitting one to BBC2. His passion led him to a production runner role, where he gained invaluable experience working under pressure.

Nick’s first presenting job was with TVS on Coast to Coast. He later moved to ITV, hosting Ridge Riders, before landing at Channel 5. However, it was in 1999 that Nick became a household name with DIY SOS, the heartwarming renovation series that transformed lives.

In 2024, he joined Strictly Come Dancing, competing alongside Chris McCausland, Paul Merson, and Sam Quek MBE. Other notable shows include Who Dares Wins, Saving Planet Earth, and 5-Star Family Fortunes. His 2018 appearance on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! further cemented his reputation as a charming, engaging personality.
