About Zing Tsjeng
Zing is the author of the Forgotten Women book series, which sheds light on the untold stories of inspiring women who have been marginalised in history. The series was first published in four volumes and later compiled into an anthology titled Brazen in 2022.
In addition to her work in print, Zing has made a significant impact in the world of podcasting. She has presented several award-winning podcasts, including United Zingdom, named one of the best podcasts of 2020 by The Guardian; the inaugural series of the Women’s Prize for Fiction podcast; and Good Bad Billionaire, which topped the audio charts in 2024. For Yamaha, she hosted Benefits of Music, a podcast series exploring the creation and enjoyment of music. Her YouTube shows for VICE News, such as Empires of Dirt and The Business of Crime, have garnered nearly 30 million views.
Recognised for her contributions to journalism, Zing was highly commended in the British Journalism Awards 2020 as a “one-woman multimedia practitioner” and named one of London’s most influential people by the Evening Standard. Her work on the Unfiltered History Tour, which critiques the British Museum’s collection of artefacts, won 12 Cannes Lions, including three Grands Prix.
Zing also engages audiences globally through live Q&As, panel moderation, and keynote talks at prestigious events such as SXSW, Web Summit, and at institutions like the University of Oxford, where she was appointed Visiting Professor of Creative Media in 2022.
