Robert has won multiple awards for breaking news stories around the world including the Royal Television Society’s International News Prize for his coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and two gold medals at the New York Film & TV Festival for his reporting on the plight of refugees during the Rwandan Civil War. He was also nominated for Television Journalist of the Year by the Royal Television Awards 2021.
For the last ten years he has been based in Washington for ITN and was the only television reporter in the world embedded with the mob as it stormed the US Capitol on January 6th, 2021.
