Dr. Julia Ebner

With her expertise, Julia regularly advises governments, intelligence agencies, tech companies, and transnational organizations like NATO, Europol, the World Bank, Google, and Meta. She has also served as a Special Advisor on Terrorism Prevention for the United Nations Office of Counterterrorism. Her work has positioned her as a trusted authority in counter-extremism and disinformation.

Julia is the author of several award-winning and bestselling books, including Going Mainstream (2023), Going Dark (2019), and The Rage (2017). She frequently contributes to major news outlets such as The Guardian, The Sunday Times, The Washington Post, and Süddeutsche Zeitung, and has appeared in documentaries and broadcast programs across the UK, US, Germany, and beyond.

Currently, Julia is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue in London and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Oxford University’s Calleva Centre for Evolution and Human Sciences. She holds a DPhil in Anthropology from Oxford University and a dual MSc from Peking University and the London School of Economics.
