Susie Wolff, Managing Director of the F1 Academy, is a trailblazing figure in motorsport, celebrated for her entrepreneurial acumen and tireless advocacy for diversity and inclusion. Honored as an MBE, she’s committed to increasing women’s representation in motorsport. She brings unparalleled insights into diversity and inclusion in male-dominated industries like motorsport, inspiring audiences with her entrepreneurial journey and leadership lessons. Her engaging presentations provide valuable strategies for fostering inclusivity and driving organizational success.
Hailing from Oban, Scotland, Susie’s early prowess in motorsport saw her earn prestigious titles, including British Women Kart Racing Driver of the Year and Top Female Kart Driver in the World. Transitioning to Formula Renault UK Championship, she secured multiple podiums and garnered acclaim.
Susie’s career peaked in Formula 1, notably with Williams Racing, where she made history as the first woman in 22 years to participate in a Formula 1 race weekend at the 2014 British Grand Prix. Her contributions were recognized with an Honorary Fellowship at the University of Edinburgh for her advocacy for women in sport.
Retiring from racing in 2015, Susie launched the Dare To Be Different initiative, aimed at increasing women’s participation in motorsport. This initiative later merged with the FIA Girls on Track program, expanding its impact globally.
As an ambassador for She’s Mercedes, Susie continues to empower women in motorsport, aligning with the brand’s ethos of inspiring excellence. Her efforts were acknowledged with an MBE in 2017 for her dedication to women in sports.
In 2018, Susie stepped into team management as Team Principal of ROKiT Venturi Racing in Formula E, subsequently rising to Chief Executive Officer. Under her leadership, the team achieved remarkable success, culminating in a Vice-World Championship in 2021-22.
Her recent appointment as Managing Director of the F1 Academy underscores her ongoing commitment to nurturing young female talent in motorsport, aiming to propel them to higher levels of competition.
