About Megan McCubbin

Megan McCubbin is a leading wildlife presenter and scientist, known for her dedication to climate issues and biodiversity. She is best recognized for her roles on BBC Two’s award-winning series “Springwatch” and “Winterwatch.” In 2022, she joined BBC One’s “Animal Park,” bringing a fresh conservation perspective to the show. Megan has also presented “Undercover Tourist” on BBC Three, “Planet Defenders” on CBBC, and “Earthrise” on Al Jazeera. She hosted the BBC Proms Earth Day concert in 2022, featuring Hans Zimmer and Aurora.

Megan co-presents the engaging podcast series “The Frogs Bollocks” with James Stevens and co-founded the YouTube series “Self Isolating Bird Club” with Chris Packham. Together, they authored “Back To Nature” in 2020, highlighting UK nature conservation. Her 2023 book, “Atlas of Endangered Species,” focuses on global conservation efforts and serves as the basis for her live theatre tour.

With a BSc in Zoology from the University of Liverpool, Megan has extensive experience in research, filmmaking, and photography in diverse environments like Africa, the UK, and Antarctica. Diagnosed with dyslexia, she excelled in fieldwork and communication, volunteering worldwide for research and charity organizations, including bear rehabilitation in China and shark studies in the Bahamas.

An accomplished public speaker, Megan has presented at COP26, the Cornwall Ecological Summit, and local theatres and schools. She co-hosts the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards at the Natural History Museum. Megan is President of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, Patron of the Winchester Science Centre and Helping Rhinos, and an Ambassador for several organizations, including the RSPB, WWF, and the League Against Cruel Sports.
