Paul Mason, former Economics Editor at Channel 4 until 2016, has spent over 15 years covering some of the world’s most significant economic and political events. Now a freelance journalist, he continues to break major news stories and provide in-depth analysis on global affairs.

Paul was on the ground outside Lehman Brothers’ New York headquarters during its historic collapse, reporting on the financial crisis as it unfolded. As the economic downturn spread worldwide, he documented its far-reaching impact, shedding light on the social and economic consequences.

His exceptional journalism has earned him multiple accolades, including two Orwell Prize shortlistings, the Wincott Award for Business Journalism (2003), the Diageo African Business Reporting Award (2007), and the Royal Television Society’s Specialist Reporter of the Year (2012) for his coverage of economic crises and social unrest across Europe.

A graduate in Music and Politics from Sheffield University, Paul transitioned to journalism in the early 1990s, spending nearly a decade covering business news in specialist magazines and newspapers before moving into television. His expertise in political economy and global trends is reflected in his widely praised books, which offer insightful analysis of contemporary economic issues.

Currently a visiting professor at the University of Wolverhampton, Paul remains a key voice in economic and political discourse. With his deep knowledge and engaging presentation style, he is a sought-after speaker and facilitator for business events, offering valuable perspectives on financial markets, global politics, and economic transformations.
