About Dr Sabrina Cohen-Hatton

Dr. Sabrina Cohen-Hatton showcases resilience and expertise in her journey from homelessness to becoming one of the world’s foremost female fire officers. Departing home at 15 and school at 16, she navigated extreme adversity to enter the firefighting profession. While working, she pursued higher education, earning a 1st Class Honours degree in Psychology, a Master’s in International Fire Service Development, and a PhD in Behavioural Neuroscience, showcasing her commitment to continuous learning and advancement.

As an Honorary Research Fellow at Cardiff University, Sabrina is renowned for her pioneering work in risk-critical decision-making during crises. Her research has not only garnered international acclaim but has also influenced significant national policy changes. Rising to the highest rank as a Chief Fire Officer in the UK, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership during critical incidents such as the London Bridge and Finsbury Park terror attacks, as well as the aftermath of the Grenfell tragedy.
